Assembly before symptom
The first question is what the leaf is made of, every time, including when the caller is certain it is the closer.
About
Charlotte Door Solutions repairs and services swinging commercial openings inside Charlotte, North Carolina. We sort the work by what the leaf is made of rather than by what broke, we publish the reference figures rather than holding them back, and we work one city so the parts on the truck match the buildings we get called to.
In one paragraph
Most door contractors organise themselves around symptoms because that is how the phone call arrives. It is a reasonable instinct and it produces a predictable failure: somebody drives out to a dragging door with a bag of closers and finds a racked corner joint, or drives out to a latching complaint with a strike kit and finds a frame anchor that has let go of a masonry wall.
Sorting by assembly moves the guess to the front of the job, where it costs almost nothing. If we know it is an aluminum entrance before we leave, we know the failure candidates in order and we know which of them we can finish today. If we know it is hollow metal in a masonry wall, we bring anchors. If it has a label on the hinge edge, we bring nothing that is going to void it and we are already thinking about clearances.
The reference material on this site exists for the same reason. A caller who has already photographed the label and measured the undercut has changed the job from a diagnostic visit into a repair visit, and that is worth more to them than it is to us.
Principles
The first question is what the leaf is made of, every time, including when the caller is certain it is the closer.
Automatic operators, overhead and coiling doors, revolving doors, glazing replacement and inspection certification are all outside what we do. Named on the pages where somebody would otherwise assume otherwise.
Every standards figure on this site carries its designation. If we cannot source it, we do not print it, which is why there is no cycle count on the lock card.
We will not turn a fire door closer down to fix a weight complaint. We will fix the reason it is heavy.
Charlotte. The scope is the product and we are not going to dilute it to look bigger.
No forms, no chat widget, no drip sequence. Three or four questions and you know whether we are the right call.
A small crew working commercial openings inside Charlotte. No photographs on this page, and that is deliberate — stock portraits attached to named people are a lie that takes ten seconds to catch. Meet the team.
If you want to know whether your opening is in our lane, ask. It is a short answer either way.
